Newtonmore and the adjacent village of Kingussie have a variety of places to eat at lunchtime or in the evening, it really just depends on what you feel like at the time.

NEWTONMORE

The Glen Hotel: A two minute walk from Eagle view where Chris and Kim offer great value and good quality food either in their lounge bar or separate dinning room. Look out for the Specials board!! Recently voted regional 'Pub of the Year' by CAMRA for the fifth year running.

The Braeriach Hotel: A four minute walk from Eagle View where Dell and Sam offer a good range of bar suppers in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Blasta:* A five minute walk from Eagle View was bought and completely refurbished by Shirlie and Chris in 2007. Their aim is to 'serve imaginatively prepared but unpretentious food drawing from the best local, seasonal ingredients available'. The ambience is warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Fine dining the way it should be and well worth a visit during your stay.

There are also two coffee shops and a Bistro in the village offering morning coffees, afternoon teas, lunches and early evening meals.

KINGUSSIE

The village of Kingussie is just over 2 miles along the road from Newtonmore and offers a similar variety of eating places.

The Cross:* This restaurant is the recipient of several awards and recognitions and offers really fine dinning for that extra special occasion.

The Silverfjord: This hotel recently under new ownership, offers really excellent bar meals and dinners at very affordable prices.

Further afield, there is a good choice of restaurants in Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey, too numerous to mention here, but look out especially for ROO’S LEAP an Australian burger bar, THE OLD BRIDGE INN and THE ORD BAN RESTAURANT AND CAFE* at Aviemore and CRAGGAN MILL* which offers fine dining in Grantown-on-Spey.
